Baking vs Frying : Which one is better?
There are many ways we can do to process raw foods, such as frying, boiling and grilling. Each of these cooking methods is the choice of ourselves, but we have to remember that cooking will affect the nutritional content of food. Improper cooking methods will damage the existing nutrients and turns into unhealthy for the body.
Frying food is the most frequently chosen because it will give you a taste of savory and crunchy on the food. But, of course, there are some risks that need to be considered. For example, the fat content in foods will increase because the fat in the oil will be absorbed during frying. According to Aminah and Isworo (2010), the use of cooking oil should not be used more than four times. But, there are much better if used no more than twice.
If we view from the side of the fat content, grilling is a good way of cooking than frying. Grilling will reduce the fat content in food. In addition, the grilling can maintain the nutritional content of food. As happened in the meat when grilled, the content of thiamine (B1) and riboflavin (B2) will be maintained.
So, now we can determine how to cook in a better way, is not it? Let’s keep our health by grilling food!
